Introduction
Stendarr looked down on Nirn and saw all the evil and abominations and weeped. For the innocent had become merely prey for demons from Oblivion, Necromancers, Werewolves and various undead and Vampires.
Then one day the forces of Oblivion opened great gates all over Tamriel and beyond, the Septim line of Emperors was broken ending the invasion, but the world fell in to ruin, wars and rebellions. Some empires crumbled, others grew, and all the while evil prospered.
Then came the Vigilant's of Stendarr, upholders of justice, hunters of evil, banisher of daedra. They shone the light of Stendarr in to all the dark places of this world, revealing evil in all it is forms, and driving them from all their hiding places.
Now the pure of heart walked the line, driving fear in the hearts of evil doers.
Where to find the Falkreath Hall of the Vigilant.
You can find the Falkreath Hall of the Vigilant near the Half-Moon Mill in Falkreath Hold.
Main Features
TEG Demon Hunters is a small mod designed to supply repeatable quests to the Vigilant's of Stendarr faction. Offering 6 different types of encounters.
Daedra
Daedric Cultists
Necromancers
Undead (Skeletons and Draugr)
Vampires
Werewolves.
Many of these are broken down even further so 6 encounters becomes 18 or more. All randomised, even the dialog so each mission does not sound too generic and remains interesting.
The rewards befits the Vigils and their goals, it to is randomised so you get something a little different after each mission. Sometimes you will get gold, other times you will get potions or both.
And at special times when you have served the Vigil faithfully for number of missions, you will be rewarded with new equipment that is unique to the Vigil, designed to help you battle evil doers around Skyrim.
The more work you do for the Vigil, the better the equipment you get.
Stendarrs
Gift:
Stendarrs Gift is a special (not enchanted
but scripted) Necklace that grants the player special perks based on
how many daedric artifacts the player has handed in. The initial
bonus of the necklace is 10% and it rises by 10% up to a max of 60%
for every 4 artefacts the player hands in.
Preying at the Vigilants Stendarr altar causes the usual diseases to be cured but also checks for daedric artefacts and gives you a +1 reward for every artefact it takes from you .
That reward then determines the power of Stendarrs Gift.
Preying at the Altar of Stendarr in the Falkreath Hall of the Vigilants handles all this for you. Including the removal and re-equipping of Stendarrs gift (if you are wearing it). So the perks get updated correctly.
If you are not wearing it, they will update next time you put the Necklace on.
Note that the altar will remove daedric items, including any you need to complete daedric quests.
As a Vigilant you should not be doing Daedric quests for any reason, so your Necklace should always be at 10% power.
Note to Role Players about Stendarrs Gift.
A powerful Necklace means lots of corruption and evil deeds. A humble 10% power Amulet means you are Pure of Heart. Keep that in mind because I did not create things this way by accident :)
It is going to be important in the future :)
Installation:
Copy the TEG_DemonHunters.bsa & the
TEG_DemonHunters.esp in to your Skyrim/Data directory. Then when you
launch the game, at the splash screen, click on Data Files, scroll
down the TEG Demon Hunters and tick the little box next to the mods
name to enable it.
Then enjoy the mod.
Conflicts and problems.
This mod does not edit the Vigilants of Stendarr faction in anyway. It works by using its own Vigilant NPCs, Vigilant buildings, Vigilant factions & Vigilant equipment. This extra mile I went too for this mod, should reduce conflicts to a bare minimum. An extra weeks work for me means no serious problems later for you.
The mod does edit the terrain around the Falkreath Hall of the Vigilant in Falkreath Hold which is near the mill in Falkreath Hold. So will conflict with mods that edit the same area.
Because each mission is a search and
destroy mission, it is entirely possible the targets of the mission
will run off to kill something else. If that happens, just remember,
they will return to the search area in time. But please note that the
Wait Key does not actually speed much up in Skyrim so do not expect
miracles from its use.
